Tue 18 September 2007 - Here is my backyard
It’s not a big backyard, but I was never going to be able to afford a big property in the suburbs I wanted. Oh well, there’s a large park quite nearby.
The fence isn’t really that crooked. It’s a trick of the photo stitching software.
Likewise, this picture makes the backyard look pretty microscopic. It isn’t really: by my calculations it’s about 13 metres across by about 7 metres deep. Like I say, not big. But usable.

please tell us that you only moved the trampoline onto the brick pavement temporarily just so you could mow the lawn.
Or else you have an orthopaedic trauma specialist living next door.

Do your boys use the trampoline? The kids next door to me have a trampoline and I am amazed that they still use it every day even though they have had it for a couple of years. Not like most things which soon lose their appeal when you are a kid. They have definitely had their moneys worth out of it.

I love a small space like yours - but with room for a large table to entertain around. When kids are small, a space like yours is all that is needed for trikes and dolls prams etc.

My kids would love a trampoline honestly. But I’m a little leery after hearing of accidents on them.

Roger: It was originally to let the grass grow back after a tough summer, but ended up staying there. I’m not convinced it makes a big difference.
Lyn: Not as much as when they first got it.
Toria: If you have more space than me, they now have trampolines with a kind of fence thing around them that prevent kids accidentally jumping off it.

We have had a trampoline for over a year now and there has yet to be an accident, which is quite amazing considering the amount of children that have been on there. We have no fencing around it, just foam over the springs - and yes, its over grass.
PS, the cat loves sleeping on the mat!!

Oh Please! We had trampolines as kids and I don’t remember every 2nd kid having somekind of trauma from it. Anything that gets kids physically active (where you can actually keep an eye on them) in this day of electronic entertainment is a good thing even if it does have a cage around it lol.
