Mon 12 November 2007 - Blog display problems

I’m told some people are having trouble reading this web site.

Some text goes under the right hand navigation.

It seems to be a problem with Internet Explorer 6.

Not sure why it’s happening more right now than usual.

Until I get it fixed, those affected can try this workaround:

  • Select all text (eg Ctrl-A)
  • Copy
  • Paste into Notepad or similar, and read there

…or you could upgrade to a half-decent web browser like IE7 or Firefox :-)

(Please leave a comment if you have any further information on this problem.
Especially if you’re seeing it while not using IE6.)

PS. Wednesday night. Although the problem’s disappeared, I haven’t actually fixed it. It appears to be a particular combination of posts that causes it, possibly related to the multitude of pictures I was posting from the Adelaide trip.

I’m using Firefox 2 and can see it all just fine, thanks. Yes, switch to the better browser, that has the No scripts add-on - really worthwhile for safety purposes. You’d be amazed as to how many “collectors” there are out there on the most innocent of sites.

yes, I have the problem as you describe on one of the PCs I use (with Explorer V6). Glad I’m not the only one!

Some of us can’t choose which browser we are using :(

It’s been the dodgy the last few weeks but it looks ok today…

This has only happened once to me and the same article is readable today. Some of the computer terms must be Australian because I have no knowledge of them and I am not a computer wiz anyway.

When you post big images or align them, they vanish under the menu and the text occasionally follows. I’ve got the most recent version of FF.
