Happy birthday to me

Turned 36 today.

Biggest present: A big framed print of what is probably my favourite painting, Collins Street, 5pm (John Brack).

John Brack: Collins Street, 5pm

Other presents: Books to read, CDs and DVDs to listen to and watch, a really nice (and expensive) dinner at Il Solito Posto, a really nice (probably inexpensive) home-made dinner and birthday greetings by email, SMS and card.

And the family sitting in the back garden in the (occasional) sunshine drinking tea, eating cake, chatting and bouncing on the trampoline and pogo-stick. Another great birthday.

Many happy returns of the day for yesterday. Pogo sticks are fun! I can remember them at primary school during playtime but everyone used to fight over who was going to use the couple that were available. Hope the meal at Il Solito Posto is both enjoyable and memorable.

happy birthday from a fellow Virgoan. famous bloke born on our birthday? none other than Sir Donald Bradman

Happy Birthday Daniel!

I got some nice presents yesterday also (money for computer parts, Tim Burton’s “Corpse Bride” on DVD, a Bill Bailey DVD, “Short Circuit” on DVD, and “Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion” for the PC).

Plus, interestingly, Aberdeen City Council sponsored a Medieval Battle Recreation event in the football field out the back of my house. Which was all very cool, until it rained :(

PDX: Bradman and Mother Teresa too!

Graeme: Happy birthday! heh, yes it would be very cool to sit and watch a medieval battle out the back of your house…

Thanks all.

Nice picture. Happy birthday. BTW I think you hung your picture too high. The way decorators do it is they center it at eye level when you are standing looking at it. Looks like you have to peer up at it.

You may be right Nancy… it was originally even higher, and has been brought down a bit. But it’s still marginally above eye-level, and may need further adjustment.

A belated happy birthday wish to you!!! :D
Nice present – that painting has been one of my favourites since writing one of my year 11 or 12 art assessment tasks on it. Where have they put it in the Potter centre? I haven’t seen it (not that I’ve spent any time looking for it specifically…)
